The whole premise is quite clear. From the reason for creation of woman, all the way through. To support gender equality is to deny one's own religion—which will it be?
There actually is a practical answer as to why multiple wives are ok and not multiple husbands in Islam, but it all reduces down to magic book engineering of society.
I see lack of islamic knowledge here.
