Hi my super productive overlords (no joke, u all got my utmost respect),

thanks for the latest updates of memmy. The new sidebar sits well with memmy, and you can see, that the UI gets more polished.

I had the iOS version installed on my mac from the getgo.. I was just curious what catalyst does to the App. The recent updates made it even more useable — by accident I suppose.

Do you have the long-term goal of making a apple multiplatform App targeting iOS/iPadOS/macOS ?

Also the App did not update via AppStore. Had to uninstall and reinstall it?

I mean otherwise there are upcoming options like leomard I could settle with, but I really love the way memmy looks, feels and behaves.

Best wishes

So for macOS, it honestly has not been a thought. I’m actually curious to see what it looks like now myself and I might check it out in the morning. Anything that we did definitely was accidental…

As for iPad, I know there’s stuff that’s sub-optimal there, and if I have to be honest, I rarely even pay attention to how things work there. It’s a struggle enough to keep up with a few different iOS devices…plus I don’t have a physical iPad so it’s hard to test.

That being said, eventually I’d like to polish up iPad support a lot more. But I can’t really give a timeline on when that might be.

Makes sense, and I think you've got the right idea. The development pace has been incredible, but Memmy for iPhone can still get better, and should, as that's the primary customer base.

I'd say, once Memmy is excellent, supports all different kinds of sites and image viewers, handles different kinds of content, is super accessible, has themes, filters, settings, and just generally everything you'd reasonably want to build, then maybe take your time and use the tools Apple provides to give a great iPad experience. Then once that's done and battle tested, maybe even a great Mac experience.

iPad, and hell I believe even MacOS on M1 if you allow it, can both use the iOS version until then.
