Either fake polls, or these people are absolutely fucking insane.
I remember before the election, there were polls that said Trump was rising. Lemmy said "fake polls!" and "No way! This is propaganda!" And um, look what happened...
EDIT: Then Trump gets elected, Lemmy has shocked face, and can't understand how it was possible. Because there are a lot of people on Lemmy who refuse to listen to outside information if it doesn't fit their narrative. And they're outright hostile to anyone who talks against that narrative as well. So I believe the polls.
You do realize Lemmy is not a monolithic entity, right?
And you do realize that Lemmy has a very very large majority of people who are anti-conservative, right? So when people talk about Lemmy in the scenario I noted, it's taken to mean the majority. And in this case, I mean the vast vast vast majority.
I don't know and I don't care. I'm not on the same server as you are. That's my point.
And regardless of your server, the vast vast majority of Lemmy swings left. I wasn't talking about individual servers, I was talking about the vast majority of Lemmy. That's my point.
What's your evidence?
Gestures broadly at the whole website
You guys always ask for evidence for something that cannot be proven without data nobody has access to.
The main conservative sub was recently taken over and remade into a yet another sub to mock conservatives. In the thread about doin that many people said they didn't want anyone even slightly conservative to even be allowed on the website. Some people arrested to argue they should be allowed to have a space and those people were heavily down voted.
Lemmy has an extremely far left bias. One might even call it radical.
What's so "radical" about asking for evidence?
You aren't the brightest sandwich in the toolshed are you?
I said Lemmy could be considered radical. Not you asking for evidence.
The evidence you ask for is quite literally impossible to prove with data since that data isn't available to anyone. The best we can do is observe and when observing the users of Lemmy and the content that is allowed on here vs what is not allowed on here it is very clear that Lemmy skews extremely far left. Some communities are so far left they have completely lost sight of the center whatsoever.
Sharpest tool in the shed.
That was the point of my argument. Lemmy is decentralized making it hard, if not impossible, to quantify the user base's political leanings. All you have is anecdotal but nothing concrete.
I'm not gonna bother explaining it to yet another person who is either willingly wandering around this website with blinders on or is just stuck in deep denial.
Lemmy is extremely far left. The majority of users here will tell you that. The majority have noticed that. The majority seem to want to keep it that way.
I find it funny that you acknowledge the evidence I am asking for, which is proof that Lemmy is left, cannot be proven without data all while accusing Lemmy of being left. But, hey, chin up. I'm giving you credit for the evidence being anecdotal at best.
Too dumb to get my joke. Too dumb to waste energy attempting to have a real discussion about the political leanings of Lemmy.
Have a good day.
