Well, russia can do it easily because it's an authoritarian regime which means they can do whatever the fuck they want with their country(putin and his friends) and people can't day anything because they will be sent to today's version of russian gulag

And my point is, it's starting to creep in here, in America, because for some reason nearly half the country find it more important to "win", than to find legitimate solutions, and form policy that works for everyone. They'd rather screw themselves, and bow to facism, than help "the other side" as a biproduct of helping themselves.

Where is it starting to creep in here in america, exactly? Aside from a billionaire purchasing a microblogging site so that he can spread white supremacist propaganda?

There are plenty of red states that have started to censor what kids can be taught in school and what books libraries can have, and when they don't succeed they just shut the library down. It's been all over the news for the last few years so I'm surprised you haven't noticed.

That's censorship of the worst kind. Free access to knowledge is the foundation of freedom. Without education, the populace becomes much easier to control by those that seek to do so through nefarious means.
