You'll probably need to provide more details. SPMP isn't something we've heard of before.
"Isn't working" is very ambiguous. If you have error messages, that would be useful.

I recommend trying either ViMusic or InnerTune as alternative FOSS yt music clients if spmp isnt working at all.

I use InnerTune and it's just wonderful. I don't really care about translations and that stuff so I use the FOSS version and I never had any problems with it.
