I love Voyager but despite its beautiful swipe settings I REALLY miss swipe right anywhere (not just from the left edge) to go back, like Apollo allowed for. Are there any plans to implement this? The Memmy app has this if you swipe on the bottom toolbar but it would be better to able to use it anywhere on the screen.

I really, really miss it from Apollo, and for example the new Artifact app (News reader) does this so perfectly.

Please bring this back. I’m a lurker on Lemmy, as I was on Reddit, 99.4% of my interactions are “go into topic” and “go back to feed”.

I’ve searched high and low to replicate my Apollo browsing habits, and at the moment Liftoff! is the only app I’ve found that lets me full-post-swipe-back.

Hopefully with the latest gesture customization implementation, it can be added.

I also noticed that Liftoff is the only app that does it so it is the one I settled for for now. Even though Liftoff is not my favourite app otherwise, the swipe feature alone makes it the only really enjoyable app. It’s by far the most important user experience feature.

Too right.

Every now and then I check Voyagers progress, hoping to see full page gestures appear.

So here is an update in January 2024 to this issue. It seems as if this is still not possible in Voyager. :(

However a bunch of other apps for iOS does it now, such as Memmy, Bean, Thunder and Avelon. So there are good alternatives. Just too bad Voyager is behind in usability, the app seems nice otherwise. Oh well.
