• According to Senator Gillibrand – a public hearing in line with AARO's latest report can be expected soon, saying –"I’m hoping July, and if not then September. But I’m trying to do July.” This has more recently been confirmed to be happening in November.
• Speaking with Askapol, Reps. Luna and Burchett indicated that the next UAP hearing is likely to come after the August recess. More recently, this UAP hearing has been penciled in for November 13th.
• The Sol Foundationis holding its second, 2024 symposium on November 22-23 in San Francisco

Beyond/currently unknown

• Following the UAP hearing on the 26th of July, Members of Congress have called for a select committee with subpoena authority, to “go about the task of collecting information from the Pentagon and elsewhere” on unidentified flying objects. There have been conflicting messages from various Members of Congress on whether this is likely to happen anytime soon. Note – a select subcommittee was formally requested on March 13th.
• Reps. Moskowitz, Luna, and Burchett have repeatedly stated their intent to hold field hearings to overcome stonewalling from the Pentagon and military establishment "I think we [Congress] should try to get into one of these places [housing UAP evidence]...and if they won't let us in I think we should have a field hearing right outside the building...and the military will have to explain why that is." – Rep. Moskowitz (D) It is currently unknown when exactly we might expect that to occur, however as of Jan 12 – Rep. Luna confirmed: "I feel confident that we have enough evidence to move forward with our first field hearing. We will be announcing details soon."
• Several journalists have indicated that first-hand witnesses of the alleged UAP legacy programs are in the process of providing testimony/evidence to the relevant authorities (e.g. the IC IG) and/or are on the verge of making public statements in the near future (Example 1, example 2, example 3, example 4)
• David Grusch has received additional clearances through DOPSR to discuss some of his (alleged) first-hand knowledge of Legacy programs. He has mentioned he may be covering more of this information in an upcoming Op-Ed

I was always intriguied by UFO sightings in different countries in the past. So I went to look for sightings in China and found some interesting cases. I've included the Chinese text so maybe a Chinese person can tell us in the comments whether the translations are correct.

One particularly intriguing account comes from Shen Kuo, a renowned polymath of the Song Dynasty. In his book, "Dream Pool Essays," Shen Kuo describes a strange celestial object that exhibited unusual behavior. The object was said to have emitted a bright light and moved rapidly across the sky, characteristics that align with modern UFO reports.

During the Chia-yu reign-period [1056–1064] there was a huge “pearl” in Yangchow, seen frequently at night. At first, it appeared out of the marshes in T’ien-ch’ang county; later it moved to Pi-she Lake; finally, it settled at Hsin-k’ai Lake. For more than ten years residents and travelers saw it often. A friend of mine had a retreat by the lake. One night he noticed that the “pearl” was very nearby. At first, it opened its door just slightly. A bright light emerged from its “shell,” like a single ray of golden thread. A moment later the “shell” suddenly opened to about the size of half a mat. Inside there was a white light like silver. The “pearl” was as big as a fist, so bright one could not look at it directly. Shadows cast in the forests for more than ten tricents [one tricent 300 paces] distant were just like those cast by the first rays of sunshine in the morning. In the distance one could see only a red sky, like a forest fire. Quickly the “pearl” sped far off, as if it were flying, floating above the waves, bright and brilliant as sunlight.

The phenomenon was observed again in Jinshan Temple, located near Yangchow. This sighting in 1071 was recorded by Su Dongpo (Su Shi), the polymath of the Song Dynasty, and a pre-eminent figure in East Asian literature, art, and culture. He states,

The fire shines in the middle of the lake. The flying fire lights up the mountain and scares a crow. Bewildered, I return home in bed and my mind is puzzled. It's not a work of man or ghost. What is it?

He further adds in the end that he himself has witnessed the event

Another fascinating case from China can be found in Annals of Songzi County. Songzi County of Hubei Province records a strange story of a local farmer in Xiyanzui on May 8, 1880 (Chinese Lunar Calendar).

There is a farmer who went for a walk in the mountain forest behind the house in the morning. There was an object in the woods, which was emitting a strange, colorful light. He went near it and felt his body being lifted off the ground as if he was floating on clouds. The sound of whistling wind kept ringing in his ears. His mind was confused, and his body could not move completely. He suddenly falls, and he is on a mountainous hill. He is very surprised as if he had just woken up from a dream. A woodcutter then comes and asked him where he was from. The farmer replied that he was from Songzi County, Hubei Province. The woodcutter said in a curious way: How come you are here? This is Guizhou Province. It is five or six hundred kilometers away from your hometown. The farmer came down the mountain as he was told. He returned home, and 18 days had already passed.

1892: “Flying Red Flame” (赤焰騰空) - China: Dianshizhai Pictorial by Wu Youru (吳有如 Wú yǒurú)

In September 28, 1892, a large egg-like red object sailed very slowly from the West to the East before eventually disappearing from sight. This incident in Nanjing City had hundreds of witnesses, and many tried to speculate the nature of the phenomenon. Some thought it was a meteor, but it was too slow (stagnant). Others thought that it was a sky (Chinese) lantern, but the direction of the wind suggested otherwise. One witness pointed out that the object made a subtle noise when it arrived.

I just rewatched this classic and couldn't believe the simulatories between what's coming out today and the movie which came out in 1977. This particular rabbit hole (C.A.R.E.T) has not been brought up often within the context of the current disclosure discussions.

Basic overview of the story. Around 2007 a few groups of people on different occasions claimed to photograph a drone craft. Seeing the photos someone who called himself Issac came forward with documents from the C.A.R.E.T program and disclosed it to Coast to Coast AM. There was a heavy debunking campaign waged to try to discredit the C.A.R.E.T documents claiming it was a PR stunt.

As a software engineer who has worked in Bay Area tech for many years and encountered people the likes Ron Conway, Ben Horowitz and Paul Graham on multiple occasions (though none would remember my name as a lowly engineer of companies they funded) much of what is in the document tracts with personal experience and stories I have heard about that time. For example I found myself with a dozen coworkers sitting across a dinner table from Ron Conway as he told stories of Alto and PARC and the technology they had ~25 years before the general public really puts things in perspective.

Whoever put this together was at least an engineer with knowledge of computer history and specifically Bay Area tech. People like Hal Puthoff, Jacques Valle and Gary Nolan need to be asked if they have any knowledge of the C.A.R.E.T program. Their answers would be telling.

So, this happened back when I was around 10 (I’m in my 30s now). We were at my aunt’s house in San Diego, having a big family gathering – maybe a baby shower or a big game like the Super Bowl or a boxing match. There were about 20 of us there: my mom, grandparents, uncles, cousins – the whole family.

Suddenly, my aunt called for everyone to go outside. We all rushed to the backyard, and what we saw has become a family legend. At the far end of her street, we could see an orb hovering over one of the houses. It had this bright light shining down on the rooftop for a couple of minutes, just hanging there. Then, after a bit, the light clicked off, and the orb started gliding across the sky – and then it shot off into the stars, disappearing in a split second.

What’s fascinating is how differently each of us remembers the details. I saw a glowing orb, but my sister swears she saw an actual UFO with a clear shape, while my cousin recalls a rectangle with lights. I only remember the light shining down, but my sister says she saw little specs moving within the light, like something was ascending or descending.

And the moment it shot off is where things get even weirder: I remember it streaking off into the stars, but my cousin and uncle say they saw the stars themselves bend and shift around the UFO, like it was pulling the sky’s fabric, slipping through, and then everything settled back into place.

We never found out what it was. None of the neighbors saw or heard anything, and with no social media back then, there was no way to ask around or report it. To this day, we still wonder what would’ve happened if we could’ve captured it on video and shared it. Who knows if we’d have gotten any answers?

So this last month pretty much every night I've been seeing stuff flying around the sky (near lincoln uk). We have a lot of military bases around here so people were obviously saying oh it's drones or starlink etc, I WAS doing shrooms and wrote them off as satellites etc but was weirded out when they started going the other way, moving about, crossing over each other and following planes. My phone is too crap to pick any of it up so I'm investing in a better camera (yes I know).

ANYWAY last night I must've seen about 100 and said fuck it and ran to grab my housemate to confirm I wasn't nuts, he was telling me oh yeah it's just satellites starlink etc etc for a good half hour as he always takes the pics that I believe in aliens, but then we started seeing more of them going in different directions and he started getting real weirded out. We both stayed out a good hour and a half and legitimately must've seen about 500 some pulsing some wiggling and a big line of them all following each other at different speeds (was not starlink).

Telling you in general and especially around the lincoln area if you can get somewhere dark and stargaze for a bit I would love to know if anyone else can see it, I've never seen anything like it and it's been happening for a couple of weeks now. They look like faint stars so adjust your eyes and just keep an eye out for ones that are moving.

Most people in this Subreddit likely recall this Signal exchange that Chris Mellon posted to his Substack in April. According to Mellon, it shows a conversation with a "Senior USG Official". In it, the official references a "still-highly classified memo by a Secretary of the USAF in the 1950s (that) is still in effect to maintain the cover on UAPs".

I have a lot of trouble believing that the divulgence of any Air Force memos from the 1950s would have any implications that would pose a "grave threat to military defense, intelligence operations, or the conduct of foreign relations". In addition, if the Air Force felt a need to postpone the disclosure, Congress would've been notified as well.

Has Mellon addressed this in any way yet? Has this supposed "memo" been turned over to NARA? Was Congress notified of a postponement? Or does this memo not actually exist?
