By creating a post in our community, you agree that you have read and fully understood the posting guidelines. You agree that should you violate any of the guidelines below, your comment/post will be removed and in some cases, you will be sufficiently warned. Depending on the severity of the violation, you may get temporarily banned from posting/commenting, in some cases even permabanned. Multiple violations will result in a permaban.

These are the posts that are NOT allowed in our community:

  • Torrent links or any direct download links.

  • Question posts (For the love of god, use weekly question thread)

  • Opinionated posts

  • Polls not done by moderators or people chosen to do polls

  • Links to shady websites or virus links

  • Speculations

  • Fake releases, fake NFO's or any kind of joke release (30 day ban)

  • Free steam games

  • Any news that is not related to video game piracy or video game DRM's in any way

  • NSFW images or links (Permaban)

  • Youtube clickbait videos (How to download x game)

  • Any advertising that is done without permission from moderators (Referral links/affiliate links = permaban)

Regarding rule 4

CrackWatch has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to toxic conduct in comments. Any abusive, racist, sexist, threatening, bullying, vulgar, and otherwise objectionable behavior will result in moderation and/or ban. We also do not tolerate any form of doxing as well as death threats. Please keep your discussion civil.

Posting guidelines for Releases:

Separate post exists here

Posting guidelines for Humor:

We allow humor posts because we believe a small quantity of humor can improve the general mood of the subreddit. However, these are the necessary rules you need to follow

  • Humor post must not be a repost of an old humor post

  • Humor post must have at least more than 70% upvotes

  • Only 1 humor post is allowed per day

  • No NSFW humor posts (permaban)

  • During the release day and the day after a major title (Denuvo, UWP, Battle.Net), the Humor post limit will be 2 humor posts per day. On the third day, the limit is reset to one

  • Last but not least, the quality of the humor post is entirely judged by the moderators. Even though the humor post might follow the above rules, they might still get removed at the end, should the moderators be unsatisfied with the humor post.

Posting guidelines for News

  • The relevant news article must be posted as soon as possible. The allowed amount of time between the release of the news article and the post on the subreddit must be less than 24 hours.

  • Duplicate news articles are not to be posted. If one news article was already posted then that shall be the only news article on the subreddit.

  • Opinionated articles are not to be posted

  • Articles cannot be from an unknown/small/spammy website

  • These articles are going to be removed instantly: "X game confirmed cracked," "Denuvo is killing PC gaming," "X game cracked in record time," or just a recap of known Denuvo games being cracked like "The latest iteration of Denuvo is cracked."

  • Users can submit their own research findings and new discoveries, they can also crosspost from another subreddit, as long as it is relevant to the theme of the subreddit, and the research/discovery is provided with solid proof.

  • Articles must be in the English language. If it's in a foreign language, there must be an English translation of the article

Posting guidelines for Repacks

We allow repacks to be posted because we believe they would help inform users who have limited bandwidth or slower internet. Repacks also provide some form of activity in the subreddit during those days when there are no major releases. However, we ask repackers and future ones to follow these guidelines if they wish to post their repacks.

If you wish to be on the list, you must contact moderators

Current approved repackers:

  • Fitgirl

  • M4CKD0GE

  • Kaos

  • DODI

An important note for all the repackers: We have divided your repacks into old game repacks and new game repacks.

New Game repacks:

  • Any new game that has been cracked 10 days ago or less

  • Any cracked denuvo game that has been cracked again

  • DLC and updates to the game that have been cracked 10 days ago or less

Old Game repacks:

  • Any game that has been cracked 10+ days ago

  • Any "Series" repack (for instance, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell entire series repack), even if it includes a game that would be classified as a new repack

The current limit for repacks is: 3 new repacks per day (Per repacker) and 1 old repack per day.

Please note that this rule might change if the community considers too many repacks on the subreddit, so we suggest keeping an eye on this specific rule

General rules are:

  • Obey the repack limit

  • Repacks can only be posted by the repacker or someone from the repack team itself, not from a third party

  • Repacks must have NFO-like information, don't have to be in jpg, and can be in text, but try to make it as descriptive and attractive as possible

  • Be helpful to people who have questions and trouble with your repacks

  • Do not post repacks of uncracked games

Drama prevention

To ensure Crackwatch remains a neutral environment for all approved repackers, we ask that you do not bring your personal feud or drama involving other repackers into this subreddit. This includes posts and comments. Please inform your communities that they are not to post anything involving repack dramas in this subreddit. In addition, Crackwatch Team will delete any personal accusation, insults, or drama involving any approved repackers, and should anyone from the repack team break these guidelines, they will be sufficiently warned or if necessary, suspended from posting further repacks in this subreddit. Criticism is allowed to a certain extent, provided that it is respectful and informative. Insults will also be met with warns, in some cases, suspension from posting further repacks in this subreddit.

If your repacks are on the untrusted list, then your repacks will not be allowed on our subreddit.

If you are still unsure if your post will be allowed, please message the moderators

First off, we would like to welcome all newcomers to our community. We are a piracy news community where we inform the latest news related to video game piracy, including major scene and P2P releases. Before you make a submission, we would like you to read our rules. If you are still not sure if you should post on our forum, then please read our FAQ before making a post.

FAQ:

Q: Hello, I am new to this forum, how does this work?

Very simple. If you are wondering if a game is cracked, then you can use a search bar and type in a game. If it doesn't appear, you can still post a question in the weekly question thread. Please do not make a separate question post, because it will be deleted and you will be warned.

How is this sub related to r/CrackStatus?

CrackStatus is considered to be the predecessor of Crack Watch. In the end of September 2016, group of CrackStatus mods were demoted due to the trust issues that the owner had with those mods. The same mods made f/CrackWatch. Few days later, r/CrackStatus was shut down by the owner, and f/CrackWatch took its place. Now, it's used as an archive of previous posts.

Do you guys deal with piracy in general or only video game piracy?

Only video game piracy.

Where are the download links? All I see are NFO's.

We cannot share download links to illegal content, because it's against the rules. We can give you list of domains where you can get your desired content, but after that you are on your own. We also ask you to not share these download links with others, because we will delete them. We take this rule very seriously.

What is an NFO?

NFO's are like readme.txt that scene makes. It gives you instructions, general description of the game and some additional information.

What is the Scene? And what is P2P?

The Scene is an underground community of people who crack and share copyrighted material. They have strict rules that all scene members have to abide. P2P are independent crackers who don't follow the scene rules.

Where are the Scene rules?

https://scenerules.org/

Can I request cracks?

No. This subreddit is about informing people on cracks and piracy news. We don't take requests. You should try finding your answer in https://cs.rin.ru forum.

Do you guys know if X game will be cracked or will X game use Denuvo?

No, nobody knows. Don't get your hopes up, scene members won't answer your questions.

Why doesn't the Scene crack games that community wants?

Scene groups don't care about the community, they crack for fame.

Does the Scene have an official website?

No

Can I support the scene in any way?

No, just give money to the devs who deserve your money

When is X game going to be cracked? What is the current progress on X game?

Impossible to know. We don't have any contact with any of the scene members, and even if we did, they wouldn't tell us.

I need to find a torrent for a specific game, can you guys help me?

No. Try https://cs.rin.ru

Do you guys think X game will be cracked, whats your opinion on...

Please refrain from posting threads like these and instead use other forums like f/Piracy if you are going to make empty speculations, or opinion based threads.

What are seeders and leechers?

A Seeder is someone from whom you can download a piece of file. Hence they affect the overall availability of file on P2P network.

A Leecher is someone who has downloaded a file but is not sharing it back to P2P network. Hence, the overall availability of file decreases.

What is a repack?

A repack is a compressed pirated game using various compression software in order to lower the size of the game. It's most commonly used by people with limited bandwidth or people with low download speed.

What happened to Voksi? Why did he suddenly stop cracking Denuvo?

On July 25th 2018, Voksi's computer was seized by Bulgarian cybercrime police. He was sued by Denuvo's parent company, Irdeto. Voksi has stated that his cracking days are over and that he is currently focusing on Irdeto's lawsuit against him.

What are the risks of downloading a torrent containing cracks?

It depends on a lot of things: Where do you live, how strict are copyright laws in your country and how much does the government enforce these laws. Countries like France, Germany and UK are known to have extremely strict copyright laws where they will usually heavily fine you if you are caught downloading pirated content. If you live in a country where copyright law is enforced heavily, you might need to get yourself a VPN, and unfortunately, you will also have to invest some money in getting a good VPN to protect you, because free VPNs rarely work.

How is this forum not shut down?

The same reason f/Piracy is not shut down. There is nothing illegal on this forum and nothing that breaks Raddle's Terms of Service. If there is, we encourage users to report it to us so that we immediately remove it.
