Having tried all three, its a stark difference in how much more social Lemmy is comparatively. Its not even close. Almost all posts I've encountered on lemmy have interaction; whereas, more often than not, posts on the other two platforms have no interaction. Wonder what the driving factor is behind this difference?

Or ways to remove that accumulation fast?

Non-vacuum cleaner tips would be more actionable for me currently, but please do share your ways.

I’ve been on lemmy for over a year now, and I just realized I used to read all those HackerNews articles + their comments, I haven’t done that in probably 6 months because the discussion here has gotten much better. What’s changed for you with Lemmy over the last year?

If you learn you are the heir to a distant, secluded empire and the local trusted family advisor says, "don't worry we'll make a cult of personality for you." Do you accept or decline? Why or why not?

It probably seems weird asking this on Lemmy, but of course posting this on Reddit would get banned or taken down. Reddit doesn’t like being critical of Reddit. Anyways….

Over the last 10 years as a Reddit user I’ve believe the amount of accounts that are bots or foreign bad actors has tipped past 50%. I have no statistics to speak of, but would love if somebody did and could share.

Based purely on some of the conversations, posts, rage bait, strong ideologies, etc… I’m pretty convinced that a reasonable sample of humans could not or would not act the way they do on that platform. So often now I see posts that I feel are specifically attempting to sow discord and disagreement.

Does anyone else agree? What percent of users do you think are bots? Foreign bad actors?

Sadly, I think Reddit has no desire to find out or do anything about it. There would be no upside to them correcting their advertising numbers.

I want to attribute credit for resources I am using to create a video, but I am looking for a standard way to do it so that it can look good in plain text, rich text and printed text, for now the attribution I want to do, is for video, audio and software separated by their respective sections.

Just because the best thing might have been easy to answer, I want you all to think a little more to recall what was the second best thing that happened to you this year.

Ten minutes ago, I was watching the moon while listening to music. Specifically, "My Castle Town" by Toby Fox. And I just started crying. Tears of joy. I realized just how much I enjoy living. The pretty view of The Moon, the beautiful melody...

I never had any bad things happen to me. I love my parents because they are loving and kind, no trauma whatsoever, had depression once but I sent it away shortly. Lots of hospital visits though. But nothing serious. No girlfriends, no love pains etc.

I have basically nothing in my hands right now. But I'm always able craft new hobbies when I run out of them. By the mere power of imagination. In fact, I'm looking to learn French now because English was easy as fuck.

But while I enjoy life very much, I realize that I begin to distance myself from those that do not think the same. For instance, one of my friends never takes any joy from anything that he does. Say; complains about not having a girlfriend, being ugly etc. etc. He's the most handsome person I've ever seen in person. And girls just straight up lust over him. Yet, he insists on focussing on the negative. Which makes zero sense to me. Why is he ruining his own life by refusing to see the good?

Now I do realize that most people are not as lucky as me to be with absolutely no problems in their lives. However, I had the "basic" set of problems that men my age have. Those being:

  • Like a girl but she rudely refuses you (or even insults)
  • Argue with parents

And my "friends" are always so offended by these problems all they do is complaining about them non-stop. One even tried to kill himself over a girl. I genuinely can't warp my head around this. Why? When I encountered these things I never cared or at worst deluded my way out.

Why can't people just sit down and appreciate life? When I'm sitting down waiting for something, the mere ability to move my limbs seems fascinating to me. I get out of so many things.

Don't get me wrong I don't mean any of this as seeing myself above others. (Although I do have a massive ego.)

Meanwhile, I will watch the Moon.

This year will be the first time eating fondue for New Years. Any good recommendations on sides and creative stuff to dunk? Idk what the formal names are but both cheese and oil fondue.

Other than that are there any cooking subs around? I've been looking but so far haven't found any.

I'm one of those degenerates that enjoy cyst popping videos, and my sources have all dried up at this point: I was lurking on r/popping_curated and popthatzit before that. I bet the majority of them are on TikTok now, but I don't want to make an account there just for this lol.

Moderation is work. Trolls traumatize. Humans powertrip. All this could be resolved via AI.

This is not a question about if you think it is possible, or not.

This is a question about your own will and desires. If there was a vote and you had a ballot in your hand, what will you vote? Do you want Artificial Intelligence to exist, do you not, maybe do you not care?

Here I define Artificial Intelligence as something created by humans that is capable of rational thinking, that is creative, that it's self aware and have consciousness. All that with the processing power of computers behind it.

As for the important question that would arise of "Who is creating this AI?", I'm not that focused on the first AI created, as it's supposed that with time multiple AI will be created by multiple entities. The question would be if you want this process to start or not.
