Thanks just updated. I really needed the external browser option.

Loving the app so far. Baconreader transplant from Reddit. Nothing will replace BR in my heart but this app is beautifully done and I appreciate getting to have such a solid start on Lemmy with it! Heres to hoping I'll be using it as long as I used baconreader!

Just downloaded the app, and already like it a bunch! A few things I hope will be added:

  • When using amoled dark mode, you can't see the divider between posts. Would be great if it was possible to choose a white divider instead of black
  • when scrolling up, you see the menu bar for selecting between all/subscribed/local, but not for sorting (new/hot/top etc.)
  • There seems to be no indication when you receive new replies?
  • would be nice if your own username was highlighted in the comment section, so you can find your own comments easier
  • if it's possible, go directly to a comment/reply from your inbox.
  • maybe clicking the home icon while on the home page to go back to top
  • like someone else said, the add post button is a little big and distracting.

Again, great app! Hope to see it grow and evolve.

Definitely agree with this!

Can't seem to add https://lemm.ee/ as an instance to log in. Am I doing something wrong?

[–] dukethorion@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I was just about to ask about Open in External Browser, because the previous version used god-knows-what webview. Thanks!

Is there a way to blur nsfw thumbnails?

I can on other Lemmy apps but I can't find it in liftoff. Its kind of a dealbreaker for me to have them unblurred

Very nice. (Posted from Liftoff 0.9.19)

[–] phillycodehound@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Pretty cool

[–] L3ft3r1s@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Seems only the sky is the limit for this app. Thank you and keep up the great work!

[–] faltuuser@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Please add font size options for post body and comments.

[–] BornVolcano@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dunno where else to request changes (or if there's like a feature req master post), but is it possible to move the post button down just a liiiittle bit? I'm clumsy and not super coordinated and when I go to edit my comment's content box I accidentally post it.

Thanks!

IDK if the dev prefer requests/bug reports one place or the other, but I've been putting them directly on the git repository where it is being developed

Please make sure to look at what I'd already there to make sure it isn't a duplicate

Is there any way to change the ah interesting color choices made with the dark themes?

I'm not digging these weird colors at all.

Good job for implementing so many improvements in so little time. My favorite ones for this release are the single tap for comment collapse and the comments performance improvement. Keep up the good work

Love the app. Much better than Jerboa (that crashes) and Connect (ui feels off). Can we get a means of adjusting comment font size? Feels a little small and might be better for accessibility

[–] twistedtxb@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Can't login using this version, on .world

[–] Cabeza2000@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I have been trying jerboa in preparation for Jul 1st and wasn't really enjoying my time with it.

Today I found out about Liftoff and this is much better. Keep up the good work!

Am I missing something or is there a way to see the upvotes/downvote count, instead of just the scorescore

Also, can you search for content from all instances, or just from yours?

Edit: Also not really able to refresh comments in my profile effectively, I've made several that it just isn't showing. The ones that do show aren't in order even sorting under "new"

[–] Sneckster@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Thanks for the update, being able jump back to the top makes everything so much smoother

[–] DillingerEscPlan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Updates and fixes coming thick and fast. Great work.

My only complaint is that I find the green colour in dark mode an absolute eyesore. That's an issue that can wait, I'm sure.

[–] sirtwinklebottom@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Thank you! Loving the app.

I don't know when this was changed, but thank you very much for updating the colored thread lines to be offset...as someone with a curved screen (thanks Samsung) I could almost never tell whether a comment was first level or second level.

love this app, thank you 🤩

edit: doh it was this update that added it. Sweet :)

You can ignore this. Recording for a github issue

[–] DigitalPortkey@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Do you accept donations? I didn't see it anywhere in the "Contributing" section. I have very little in the way of programming skill, but I wouldn't mind donating to help the cause!

Love the app so far, seems to be the cleanest lemmy client I have tried so far.

One suggestion is to make the home button act as a "move to top" button when I am scrolled down the list. The top Bar Auto hides when scrolling down the list, making "go to top" inacessible.

[–] ralino@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Great work everyone! This app is getting better and better. 👍

I'm enjoying Liftoff immensely. Hopefully Kbin support will be added soon.

[–] pjol@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This is pretty low on our list. After 1.0 release and both platforms mature we'll look into kbin support

[–] skepticalifornia@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

No worries, Lemmy and Beehaw support is working great!

[–] V4uban@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thank you for the good work. Still unable to login to lemmy.world, but I guess that has something to do with the server

[–] zachatrocity@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's more likely something to do with your password. Does it have spaces in it?

[–] V4uban@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Negative, no spaces

[–] veroxii@lemmy.world 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just had an issue where I clicked on the link in a post but it was one of those shitty pages where pressing the back key on my phone just reloads the webpage.

So there was no way to get back to liftoff. I had to kill the app and reload.

I used to use baconreader and the same would sometimes happen where sites capture the back button somehow, but the browser wasn't full screen. The app kept it's toolbar at the top so you could always force close the browsing window if the website was misbehaving or doing infinite redirects etc.

Would something like this be possible? Or maybe there's another solution?

[–] TurnItOff_OnAgain@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The latest version, 0.9.19 gives you the option to use an external browser for links. That may fix your issue for the time being.

[–] townfox@lemm.ee 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Hello (lemmee.)world

I can’t get Liftoff to sign in on lemm.ee It says it’s not an instance. Is that the case? Am I doing something wrong?

[–] zachatrocity@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The latest release fixes 0.18.1+ instances.
