Anyone have any recommendations for a game that's like Dance Dance Revolution? My wife really liked that game back in the day and I am looking to get her it or something like it as a gift.

We have a PS5 and Xbox One S. We also have a Switch that I could get a dock hooked up to the TV, but she usually uses it in handheld mode. If there's not really any options for those systems we also have some older systems in storage while we finish some construction that I could dig out (most systems dating back to SNES).

There are two directions OP could go here:.

  • rhythm games - step-mania, guitar hero, Yakuza (karaoke mini game), Crypt of the Necrodancer
  • "get active" games - Just Dance, Ring Fit Adventure, Kinect Sports (I think that works on the Xbox One S?)

People played DDR for different reasons. For some, was the music and exercise, and for others it was the challenge. My wife liked both, so now she plays Just Dance for exercise and other games for the challenge.

There are directional foot input pads if you want that classic DDR feel as well.

I don't have any, but I've heard good things about Stepmania's recommended controllers.
