Why not? If a user wants to use their computer in that way, why should they not be allowed to?

It's done all the time. How many senseless action movies with wooden actors have made a kabillion dollars at the box office? Lots of them!

They are not upset that it is neglected. They'd rather they were left alone to do their thing. They feel like they are being attacked, because everyone else is trying to drag them into the 21st century.
