MODERATORS

During a campaign event for former President Donald Trump Tuesday, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders suggested Vice President Kamala Harris is not humble because she does not have biological children.

The comments came during a town hall the governor moderated in Flint, Michigan, at first joking about how her children’s innocent remarks can make her feel humble despite her high-profile position.

Aren't the Republicans own strategists screaming that this tactic isn't working?

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 43 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Yeah, guess she didn’t get (or couldn’t read?) the memo

[–] Marafon@sh.itjust.works 28 points 2 months ago (2 children)

As someone who went to Arkansas public schools I can assure you she "cain't reed."

You've no idea if she's looking at you or looking for you.

"Cain't" has always bugged my brain.

First, it should be spelled "c'a'i'n't". Second, what does "can are is not" mean?!?!

[–] Marafon@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 months ago

See: Arkansas public schools.

[–] Artyom@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You didn't get the memo? I'll make sure someone gets you a copy. You see, we're putting a cover sheet on all TPS reports now.

Y… yeah… I got the memo, it’s right here

[–] odelik@lemmy.today 9 points 2 months ago

What, you expect a former Whitehouse Press Secretary to be current with her party platform?!

[–] frezik@midwest.social 4 points 2 months ago

I wouldn't doubt it. One thing Republicans used to be really good at was message discipline. Trump has almost literally eaten the brain of the party and those days are gone.

I didn't know Slagathor was still making noise. The bigger question is, why are we listening?

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

It's low rent quasi modo, get it right.

[–] anticolonialist@lemmy.world 38 points 2 months ago (2 children)

That cunt needs to STFU about everything

[–] Rozz@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I thought she had gone away. Too bad.

[–] anticolonialist@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

She gov of Arkansas

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 35 points 2 months ago (1 children)

First, this was a GOP talking point long ago. She's late to the party. Second, she had to include "biological children", inferring raising a kid that isn't yours by DNA means you have NO CLUE what being a parent is like. Adoption and foster parents would think differently.

Seriously, Sanders, get your own state in order before you chime in on things. And Arkansas, do better next time.

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 months ago

The GOP is also the same party that tells people getting abortions to "PuT iT uP fOr AdOpTiOn!"

[–] nutsack@lemmy.world 24 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I fucking love not having any kids. life is good as fuck

[–] WhyFlip@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I fucking love my kids. Life is so great!

[–] nutsack@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

hell yes brother get it

[–] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

Yeah, be like the right with people like Palin and Boebert showing us how great their kids are and how good they parented them.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago

Fascist apologist says what?

[–] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 17 points 2 months ago

Why? Because she won't have enough underage workers for her state?

[–] thegr8goldfish@startrek.website 16 points 2 months ago

Hucklebeast Slanders

[–] nforminvasion@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Fucking hell. These people and their birthing kinks.

Not an antinatalist, and not saying if you have kids you have a birthing kink. This is specific to these fundamentalist freaks who have this weird obsession with having kids for the sake of having kids.

Being a parent I'm sure can be an amazing thing and you can do it for the right reasons but this... Weird evangelical need to force people to birth and force people to enjoy it is wild

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 8 points 2 months ago

And having kids the "right way," so no

  • ivf
  • pain killers
  • cesarean
  • adoption
  • step children

I get that for many people, birthing a child will be the most dramatic experience of their lives (understandable), but there are other experiences to centre.

The majority of people physically can't have children at all, and we get up to all kinds of other things to define ourselves.

[–] Soup@lemmy.cafe 6 points 2 months ago

Explain to me how what she thinks is relevant?

[–] YeetPics@mander.xyz -2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Can we throw a dig at Sanders for looking like a Muppet that's been curb stomped by Elmo several dozen times?

Seriously, let's crowdfund some corrective surgeries for that vile twat.

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 19 points 2 months ago (3 children)

If all you find to attack someone on is their physical appearance then you might as well just shut up... There's plenty to criticize Republicans for.

[–] meowMix2525@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago (7 children)

It's not the only thing, it's just funny that on top of being ugly on the inside, so many of them fall squarely into uncanny valley on the outside too. It's an interesting pattern to observe. Now quit shaming people for speaking their minds on a casual discussion forum. They aren't hurting anybody.

Not all just the tip of the iceberg but funny none the less

[–] YeetPics@mander.xyz -1 points 2 months ago

So I'll start the GoFundMe with a meager donation of $5.

Any contributions from the morally superior ones on the audience?
