It's unclear if he's distinguishing posts from the users that make them.

Blocking users is important, but posts less so (but I still loved to block posts if they were obnoxious and kept getting shared)

This doesn't make sense.

Blocking public posts makes no sense. It needs to be deprecated in favor of a stronger form of mute.

How is blocking different than a stronger form of mute? I don't know what he's talking about. I'm not sure he knows what he's talking about.
