Maybe you donβt always have to be right? Is this coming from people just trying to have a casual conversation? When Iβm in that situation I usually just say something basic like βoh interesting!β then move the conversation in a different direction.

For people that say they do stupid stuff simply because they have the right to, I say this in return:
