That is true. But donβt forget the boomers tried to overthrow the establishment/capitalism and were literally beaten. Civil rights, feminism were the boomers. They tried to change the system at the β68 Democratic convention and were hosed and beaten. Yes, they gave up and sold out, but at least a large portion of counter culture hippies tried. A lot of us would do it again, when the time is right.
It's not until the 80s where it became a large problem. At that point you have some early Gen X involved. The mindset is all the same. Greed. I don't think the Hippies lost as much as they are remembered far better or larger than they actually were.
