Been getting pretty busy, usually do 5-6 days but probably will have to drop down to 3-4 for an undetermined amount of time. I have heard Olivia Reeves only did 3 for the majority of her training, and added a fourth day for the Olympics specifically. Apparently Brayan Ibanez only does three days now as well. These two are both insanely strong but are they just outliers? I probably am not strong enough to worry about this in the first place, but I snatch 95 and cj 125 if it means anything.

After seeing a lot of comments on my posts regarding the TYR Force 1s, I figured I'd drop my first week impressions.

A little about me and the use I've put them through so far:

I train 5x a week and just finished my first week accumulation block after wrapping up an 8-week front squat cycle prior to using this shoe. Before then I wore a Nike Romaleo 2. In my Nike Rom 2s, I've hit 111kg snatch, 138 CJ, 175 front squat and compete in the 81kg category at 35. In my first big Friday in this shoe, I hit 105/140 but I attribute that CJ PR to the strength work I did prior.

  • Important: If you think you're going to lift the same in this shoe compared to a shoe you're wearing with a lower heel height, you are mistaken. Coming from a Romaleos 2, I had to make positional adjustments in my set up as well as timing (mainly in my snatch) to accommodate the 1/4 inch heel difference. If you are wearing a TYR L-1 (for example) this isn't simply a premium version of what you're wearing – this is a completely different shoe with a different feel.
  • They fit true to size. I ordered a size 11 (which is the same as all of the shoes I've worn). While yes there's more volume in the toe box, there seems to be more volume in the overall shoe which means that I have to lace these things pretty tight to keep my foot locked down. If I don't do this, I slide forward in the shoe. I'm not sure how a half size down would work as the length is fine for me.
  • As a result of either the extra volume of the shoe or the shape/size of my foot, I find the straps to be pretty much useless. When trying to use the proximal strap to lock my foot down, I actually run out of Velcro for the tightness I need. So these straps effectively become lace holders for me.
  • The soles are pretty grippy which I notice in jerks but honestly, that's any new weightlifting shoe I've worn (Romaleos 2, 3 XD, 4, Anta 1, Legacy Lifter 2, 3). I'm unsure how the grip will change on a longer time frame.
  • I do notice a pinching at the medial part of my ankle. This might be due to the upper needing to be broken in.
  • The upper is rigid which is a HUGE improvement over the L-1 (that shoe was sloppy AF). But to compare this shoe to the L-1 would be like comparing apples to oranges honestly (mainly due to the heel height difference).
  • The vent holes in the forefoot seem to do their job as how hot this shoe may run isn't something I think about.
  • Not an important note but the shoe lacks personality. I get they copied the 2008 Adistars but the profile of this shoe looks pretty generic. With the 2008 Adistar, they had their 3 stripe motif which is on par for the identity of their products. With TYR's shoes, they seem to still be figuring that out and that really comes through here with this shoe. Sometimes when I review lifting footage from the front 3/4 it looks like I'm in a whitelabeled shoe.

So far, it's a good shoe...but is it $335 good? My immediate answer is no.

There's going to be a bunch of other points I may not have touched on. Feel free to ask if you'd like specifics addressed.

A while ago I saw this short video here of a black man who was de4dlifting besides a weightlifter. I can't find it anymore. He said "big dawg shit" several times while he C&J 180 kg or more. What's the name of the weightlifter?

i used to weightlift in the past and was had a lower back injury that recovered after a month, but never fully got back into weightlifting.

recently, i wanted to get back in weightlifting and purchased a platform, olympic bar, plates, squat rack and so on, and started training.

first month, I took it easy, only stretching, and light overhead squats, and cleans.

everything seemed fine. yesterday, I was doing the same routine. ( i have a super tight lowerback and i make sure to stretch it well), and while cleaning 40kg, as i was jumping, i felt a sharp shock in my back, which made me fall. Went to the hospital did an x-ray and they told me its a pulled muscle (strain). I have hard time moving, and the pain is still there.

I've been depressed since. if 40 kgs did this, how am i ever going to get back to training. I feel like i should give up.. idk what to do, or what i did wrong.
