Ukrainian drones carried out an attack on Russia’s largest maritime trade port, Ust-Luga, in the Leningrad region, flying over 900km and nearly reaching St. Petersburg.

One drone scored a direct hit on a gas condensate tank, causing massive damage, while shrapnel from the explosion tore through three neighboring tanks.

❌37 artillery systems

❌12 mortars

❌ 45 cars

I was reading this Foreign Affairs on the US abandoning Europe and this paragraph struck me.

The most important priority of European governments is to secure their continent. The European security order hinges on holding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s imperialist ambitions at bay. On the day that Trump won reelection, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chair of Russia’s Security Council, announced that “the objectives of the special military operation [in Ukraine] remain unchanged and will be achieved”—a rejoinder to Trump’s campaign pledge to end the war immediately. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signaled that he might be willing to agree to a cease-fire that includes some loss of territory in exchange for credible security guarantees such as Ukraine’s admission to NATO and support for its defense. But Keith Kellogg, the incoming U.S. special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, has said that the United States should bring Ukraine to the negotiating table by withholding weapons and suggested that a cease-fire built on Ukraine’s acceptance of a de facto long-term Russian occupation of eastern Ukraine could be on the table. And although Zelensky wants NATO membership and ongoing U.S. military aid to ensure that the rest of the country remains independent and sovereign, neither the United States nor Russia currently seems ready to agree to such terms.

It's a 180 which I've been fearing with Trump, but still seems hard to believe.

💀 FPV ambush - scouts eliminated the chief of staff of the "Storm-Ossetia" occupier battalion

✔️ On December 29, 2024, on the Vasylivka-Tokmak highway, soldiers of the FPV calculation of the active operations unit of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “Kraken” eliminated the chief of staff of the “Storm-Osetia” battalion (an assault unit within the 429th motorized rifle regiment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) Sergey “Kama” Melnikov and his driver.

❗️ Intelligence officers of the Department of Active Operations of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine obtained operational information containing details of the route and schedule of movement of the chief of staff of the battalion of Russian terrorist forces in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhia region.

☝️ Thanks to this data, aerial reconnaissance planned an FPV ambush for the leader of the invaders.

⚡️ First, the drone operators skillfully scared the driver of the UAZ Patriot car in which Melnikov was.

💥 The terrified Russian driver abruptly changed the trajectory of the car, the car flew into a ditch, and then military intelligence officers hit the windshield with a kamikaze drone.

✔️ Both occupiers were destroyed.

⚔️ The fight continues!

🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!

⚡️ Two paratroopers of the 79th captured 14 occupiers: the impressive story of one assault

The assault group of the 79th ODShBr approaches one of the Russian positions. Before that, the pilots of the strike drones successfully practiced on the enemy - after an intensive and prolonged raid, the occupiers are crammed into a tight dugout and do not poke their nose out of cover.

In this way, two paratroopers from the 79th manage to achieve absolute surprise — they throw grenades right at the entrance to the enemy dugout.

The frightened occupiers immediately threw down their weapons and raised their hands. By that time, as it turned out, there were as many as 14 occupiers in the position. They chose life over death — and our paratroopers did not refuse them.

In unique night drone footage, we see two of our paratroopers actually leading Russian soldiers into captivity in formation. Brilliant and heroic work.

For details of this operation and the testimonies of the prisoners themselves, see the video.
