Mirror

The "Solntsepyok" is done—burnt to a crisp!

We have destroyed the hellish machine—the heavy flamethrower rocket system TOS-1A "Solntsepyok." This system fires incendiary or thermobaric munitions, causing devastating effects on personnel and defensive positions. A rare and high-value target, it will fight no more—it's headed for scrap.

A huge thanks to the aerial reconnaissance units of the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade and the 108th Separate Battalion, who illuminated the target, and to all supporting units that contributed to the success of this special operation.

P.S.: According to intercepted communications, the crew of the "Solntsepyok" also got nicely roasted.

💥 Warriors of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade (OMB) destroyed a Russian Su-25 and likely damaged an enemy helicopter! [Video]

On the outskirts of Toretsk, a combined anti-aircraft missile unit from the 28th OMB and the 57th Territorial Defense Battalion (TDB) used an "Igla" to send a Russian Su-25 to its eternal parking spot. A Mi-8 helicopter attempted to evacuate the pilot, but luck was not on their side—our FPV drone operators R.V. and BBpS didn’t let that happen.

As a result, the helicopter limped back, requiring significant repairs, while the Su-25 pilot was left abandoned. Probably not Russian, because as they say: "Russians don’t leave their own behind." If someone was left behind, they weren’t really one of them. 🤷

Once again, our guys have proven that Russian aviation regularly flies downward, and the occupiers' dreams of air superiority always end the same way—into the ground.

Hi All,

Looking to steer into HA, but have some questions on how data is handled.

First, I don't mean the opt-in on the scant analytics. HA is very clear about that which is great. Awesome clear policy.

Second, I understand that "integrations", which use a device manufacturer's/services software/infrastructure, are outside scope here (although I do have some questions).

My goal is to find and work a system where no one knows when my lights are turning off and on, and is only on my hardware. IE: If the internet went down, but I was still connected to local wifi, can my HA still work?

The answer seems like a strong "yes", but I want to double check. I also want to make sure if I do use an integration that there's not an avenue for telemetry beyond that integration. IE: I don't want Spotify to gain access to what temperature I keep my house just because I want to play music.

I also have questions about the mobile app, but if the rest is truly locked down, I can navigate that.

I currently have an automated bog garden, but how I did it isn't really scalable. It's all modbus components with values passed to a local server to generate a dashboard. I'd like to expand to more actual "home" automation, and this seems like a great tool!

Thanks for any clarification.

China has reaffirmed its support for a Palestinian state after Donald Trump’s surprise proposal that the United States should take control of Gaza.

“Gaza belongs to Palestinians and is an inseparable part of Palestinian territory,” Chen Xiaodong, China’s vice-minister for foreign affairs, told a group of ambassadors from Arab states in a meeting in Beijing on Friday.

Any arrangements regarding the future of Gaza must respect the will of the Palestinian people, Chen added, according to a statement from the foreign ministry.

“China has always firmly supported the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people and the effective jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority over all Palestinian territories, including Gaza and the West Bank,” he said.

He added that Beijing would continue to maintain “close communication and collaboration” with Arab countries.

Friday’s meeting was held upon the request of the Arab states, the Chinese foreign ministry said.

The statement added that the ambassadors had said they “expected China to continue to play a constructive role in safeguarding international fairness and justice and supporting Palestine’s legitimate national rights”.

On Thursday, Guo Jiakun, the foreign ministry’s spokesman, also underlined Beijing’s long-held position against the forced displacement of people, saying that Gaza should never be turned into a “bargaining chip for political gains”.

Beijing has been a long-standing supporter of Palestinian statehood and has repeatedly said that a two-state solution is the only way out of the cycle of violence in the region.

The PlayStation Network (PSN) is down, depriving online gamers around the world from accessing weekend events.

The outage began in the UK at about midnight on Friday.

About 71,000 gamers reported the outage to PlayStation’s website. Many users can no longer access online gaming lobbies, the PlayStation Store or their online accounts.

The PSN runs a model that costs £13.49 a month, £39.99 for three months or £119.99 for 12 months for its premium subscription. Many gamers have pointed to these costs when complaining to Sony.

Reddit deletes all my accounts for some reason eventually.

And mods often remove any unusual posts including many of my posts.

I want to post some stuff and get opinions from people who know how to invest or do business. Reddit isn't good for that. Usually, the type of people on reddit is someone who is incapable of critical thinking and independent thought.

Hey there, I'm from Germany and have mental health issues such as depression and was wondering how prevalent this topic is in America.

Here in Germany this topic has become extremely normal and pretty much everyone seems to openly talk about it even with strangers sometimes. We have a lot of therapists but it's often hard to get an appointment since medical care in Germany is free and they have overwhelming numbers of people and the therapists don't have enough availability to accommodate everyone. The therapists I had so far were pretty good since they really seemed to care about me and often did overtime and such to talk.

I wonder if it's similar in America that a lot of people go to therapy and openly talk about mental health. What is the situation in America like? Do you have many therapists (especially in rural areas) and how easy is it to get in/finance? Or would you say this topic is generally more frowned upon in America in comparison?

Summary

Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia have disconnected from Russia’s power grid to prevent "geopolitical blackmail."

The move, decades in the making, was accelerated by fears of Russian pressure after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Baltic states will test their energy stability for 24 hours before integrating with Europe’s grid via Poland.

Officials warn of potential cyberattacks and sabotage, with increased security in place.

Estonia’s Kaja Kallas called the move "a victory for freedom and European unity."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said his team was working with US counterparts to coordinate with Donald Trump’s administration, after the US president suggested earlier on Friday he would be willing to meet.

In a post to Telegram, Zelensky said that he valued cooperation with Trump and that Ukrainian and American teams are working out details. Separately, Zelensky said in an interview that he was willing to make a deal to secure more US backing in exchange for some of Ukraine’s rare earths and other minerals.

Trump, meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on Friday, was asked by a reporter if he would help coordinate a meeting between Zelensky and US Vice-President J.D. Vance, who is travelling to Europe for summits in Paris and Munich next week.

Trump seemed to mishear the question, and responded by saying that he himself “will probably be meeting with President Zelensky next week”.

“One of the things we’re looking at with President Zelensky is having the security of their assets,” he continued. “They have assets underground, rare earth and other things but primarily rare earth.”

Summary

A Canadian task force detected a "coordinated and malicious" online campaign linked to China, targeting Chrystia Freeland, a candidate to replace Justin Trudeau as prime minister.

The campaign was traced to a WeChat news account linked to the Chinese government, with over 30 accounts participating. China’s embassy has not responded, but Beijing has denied interference allegations.

This follows previous claims of Chinese election meddling.

Freeland stated she "will not be intimidated." Trudeau remains PM until a new Liberal leader is chosen on March 9.

I'm your average American citizen with no contacts to Trump, the Whitehouse, or the Federal Government.

I'm sure the answer is no, but is there any way I could send him a message that he would actually receive?
